Marta Korencic Ross, the lady from Ljubljana, Slovenia, is as symbolic of today’s society as the girl from Ipanema was representative of that of the 1960s.  At once a native of Slovenia and a citizen of the United States, Ms. Ross calls Houston, Texas her adopted home, after having lived for years in California, among other places.  Her profession as designer and her propensity for international travels opened Marta’s eyes to the beauty, diversity, and interest of all things from all countries and all ethnic groups.  These multiculturally diverse interests continually manifest themselves in Marta's language skills, her culinary courses, and her interior decorating schemes.
